@hugo A less foreign concept of what you’re saying here is that when a citizen is provided healthcare, insurance, education, etc., and it’s not up to the employer, to provide that, eh “benefits,” the workforce can focus on negotiating its hourly pay and work conditions. Yet, so many conservative leaning workers cheer when we hear about deregulation and “trickle down economics. What they’re cheering for, and celebrating, is decreased negotiating power, a cut in total compensation (as these regulations/fees are to help protect the employee and invest in his/her PTO, retirement, etc); in other words, they are cheering getting a pay cut. I don’t want to go as far as calling conservative voters unintelligent, but they are definitely unlucky when they’re thinking.
