@Edent @hugh I second Hiroshima & Miyajima.
While in Tokyo, I urge a visit to Senso-ji temple.
It's utterly mad and crowded during the day.
I recommend going at night, much quieter and it looks utterly spectacular when lit up.

@Nikkileah @Edent @hugh I third Miyajima. roughly in the area is also the Shiramani Kaido Bikepath over the bridges from Onomichi to Imabari. I'ma Ari also has a nice Onsen. i just did this 5 days ago. Nagoya has a very cool Shinkansen museum.
