@nflux Probably still the case. Deleting rooms is not part of the standard and I haven't found a way to do it at all without editing the DB myself.

@crystallord yeah and they were quite insistent about not doing that. so what, someone sets up a channel i dont like on my server and i have to keep hosting it forever or risk trashing my server? nice idea but nope. i ended up using a jitsi server (since jitsi provides the a/v calling for matrix anyway iirc) which worked pretty well (and even had screen sharing).
