It's so sad to see that large amount of posts on r/gnome are just slop. I built another Amberol clone! I built feature-packed video player! Looks inside Yep, all slop coded. Apps made by people completely not interested in programming, most of the time with zero knowledge of it, too. And they are supposed to compete with human-crafted apps, the ones that actually had thought poured into them? Stop joking around. That's why no slop coded program will be able to compete with artisinally crafted ones, because the latter were actually made with thought and care. We are living in Cyberpunk 2077, people have outsourced their thinking and skills to megacorpos. Congrats, I'm sure once these companies will go bankrupt or the LLMs themselves with become riddled with ads (already happening) or become too expensive (yep, already happening too) y'all still will be "10x engineers". People are underestimating art of programming and absolutely undermining amount of effort it takes to craft beautiful, high quality apps. #gnome
