There's considerable debate/discussion in the UK about screening for prostate cancer, with all the potential for false positives from any of the approaches. I have opinions on this as you can probably imagine!

@cabbey ... And I have the extra diagnosis of Lynch Syndrome now, so I get a colonoscopy every two years. Just recently had my first, which was clear.

@greem heh. I can imagine you do. I have feelings about the form of cancer that took a chunk out of my ass a few years back as well. I’m surprised there are still debates. My doc said the false *negative* rate with DRE was “unacceptably high”, and that modern blood testing’s false negative rate was “nearly zero”. In any case I think we can all agree the most important things: Get tested. Get screened. Catch it early.
