@zhenech Also, https://opencode.ai/ does exist, is at least MIT licensed (no copyleft, but better than "All Rights Reserved"), and does give you somewhat better verification options including a local install, so I'm curious how people/orgs assess those two relative to each other. cc @larsmb

@xahteiwi @zhenech Gauge the impact of AI by who is involved in its creation, who invests in it, and who promotes it. The fossil fuel industry funds AI. https://www.desmog.com/2025/12/11/the-koch-network-is-pushing-trump-to-accelerate-ai-documents-show/ Notorious bigots & wingnuts promote it. https://www.cnbc.com/2026/04/06/openai-asks-california-ag-to-probe-musks-anti-competitive-behavior-.html https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/apr/07/an-ai-company-with-an-arsenal-of-spacecraft-what-exactly-is-spacex https://boingboing.net/2026/04/06/musk-makes-banks-buy-his-crappy-chatbot-if-they-wantin-on-the-spacex-ipo.html Beware of any software developed by an amoral narcissist or who mistreats his coders https://archive.is/VGP4Z https://www.ft.com/content/e5fbc6c2-d5a6-4b97-a105-6a96ea849de5 1/
