@kkarhan@jorts.horse @worldsworstgoth@hachyderm.io also finely targeted dynamic pricing is much more a risk in North America than Europe, not just due to potential lack of regulation but the sheer physical size of retail shops. It would be difficult if not impossible in your average German or UK supermarket to make electronic price tags flip their numbers like a fruit machine, without a whole load of people noticing this (as crowds of unrelated people are closer together by necessity) and reporting it on social media or even to regulators, whereas in a larger building the people would be more spread about and it could be easier to divide it into segments knowing how many people are in them (by scanning the CCTV feed) and adjust price tags more subtly.
