@Richboy50 OMG yes, and especially things that make it extra hard on purpose. Like this: Filling in taxes and pay them: online form, largely prefilled and easy to do. New ruling on possibly too high tax rates applied in the past: you need to call us and we will send you a paper form that you need to fill out and send back to us. No online, no prefilled (although they already have all the info). No let’s go do this as if it is 1970

@Richboy50 - I've found in my career the blame for bureaucracy is on politicians+judiciary. From the founding fathers to today's friends-of-billionaires, government employees work under a system where they must continually CYA while attempting to keep things going with an incoherent mishmash body of law that ties their hands. The thing is, the role of business is to be efficient; the role of government is to be fair. Despite people trying many times to unite the two, you can only pick one.
