@b3lt3r I honestly, sadly, do not think they understand that. Most of them do not know what they are about to do, and/or the implications of it. Also, if others take the same route as Signal intends to do (just for clarification: which is a stance I applaud) there will be no one else to have a chat with for the politicians either, encrypted or not, unless they conjure up their own service. But that would also remove the “one end is un-encrypted” dilemma. @Mer__edith
