@RMerlin I think the specific wifi hardware can make a huge difference in this area. I've had laptops where I just bailed immediately and bought an Intel wifi card to swap in, for example. I know this doesn't help you but it can also go super easy on Linux.

    @dino I was already expecting having to deal with the driver since it's a Wifi 7 dongle. The whole regulatory region mess is what really pissed me off. No average user would have been able to deal with this on his own.

    @dino @RMerlin definitely, intel cards have been just perfect. And even other companies have all improved. So for example Realtek is quite solid a few years because they want to sell to chromebooks. Qualcomm WiFi 7 cards don’t have their drivers in win11 where the install forces you to connect to the internet. But just work on new Linux kernels
