Looks like [this](https://lemmy.world/c/climbing@sh.itjust.works) is the biggest one, but pretty dead unfortunately.
I've heard this phrased before as "why are there so many engineers in climbing?" And most people say "something something puzzles." I then present my theory that the reason is that engineers are a bunch of nerds with poor social skills, and climbing gives them an easy way to socialize

Thanks. I guess everybody is different. I’m a natural introvert that excels at extroversion due to my past. So for me it wasn’t the social thing and in fact I had a hard time getting my friends to climb so had to find a climbing group. What hooked me about climbing is that it’s a rare sport where I lose myself and my mind goes quite. Like nothing other than guitar practice makes my mind shut up so once I found that I was hooked.

climbing, cycling, and back country. the core hobbies and interests of engineers.
