@scribblemacher Dealer also gets a chance to find extra gold after a battle and gets to use a number of the weapons which attack enemy groups (whips) or all enemies (boomerangs and the class-exclusive abacus weapons). Appraising is alright. The class is also used for a later quest, but it can be a newly created Dealer (which will leave the party for a time).
There's also a Dealer in the 4th game, who was the main character they started the Mystery Dungeon spin-off series with.

@JTO_is_Typing I thought you permanently lose the dealer you send to that town in DQ3, but its been awhile. I absolutely hated Torneko/Tallon's chapter in DQ4. I've played that game a few times but only made it past that chapter once.
