@Tattie thanks for this thread. it's stunning to realize how necessary it is to call out mistreatment of widows -- it's so widespread and so deeply ingrained in society.
I had to learn this lesson the hard way, through uncharitable thoughts toward the widow of an old friend. the way she moved on wasn't mine to question or judge, but judge her I did. at some point I awoke from my idiotic slumber and realized how shitty I'd been. I still feel awful about it 15 years on.

@datn I'm glad you noticed it, and realised it was wrong. Too many still feel that we're a fair target of public judgement. 😠
