I do think it's absurd, tho, how I got words like "wuss" thrown at me growing up, because I refused to participate in the boys' displays of masculinity. But now we're all grown, it's me, the trans woman, who always ends up intervening when there's asswipes being racist or misogynist or queerphobic or whatever. Putting my safety on the line. Then eventually, hopefully, my cis sisters step in in defense of me, making sure I'm ok. And cis guys? Studiously examining the ground in front of them. I feel that masculinity has been mis-sold to me. 🙃

    This is no longer about that one guy, who was after all only being nice. I'm just generally disillusioned.

    @Tattie masculinity is about falling in line, submitting to other more powerful men and social pressure. that's why they called you names. emasculation is a tool of control.
