@CaraBruar @timrichards I am dead against that. Why shouldn't older people be represented or do the representing? Yes, many people's faculties do decline as they age. But many others' do not. Assuming an older person is a dodderer is the worst kind of ageism.

@kauer @timrichards It's not because they are dodderers. It's because the longer people have to accumulate power the harder it is to pry it from their greedy selfish hands. Old people with power favour their mates and cronies who, guess what, are also old and rich. So power and money become more and more concentrated among people who formed their world view in very different times and have no desire to change anything.

@kauer @timrichards what about this then? After you have been in Parliament for ten years in total including state and federal, you can't stand again. Replace timeservers with people who want to achieve something other than personal wealth. #auspol
