is there's any future where AI models become publicly-owned infrastructure? where the tools that shape information are owned by the commons instead of consolidating power in so few places? because if that's even possible, it's builders like us who make it, isn't it? (2/2)

@castastrophe If the last 40yrs have taught anything, it is this: the public will fund and build social tech and infrastructure; the gov will sell off its ownership, the private sector will take over and extract all value. Without government that has teeth and a sense of fairness, nothing anyone builds will stay unconsolidated, effective, or true to design. This isnt a tech problem. It is a government and society problem.
