there is no way of knowing! No tool tip, no interactive help, even the official documentation says Margin = "Specify the amount of space to leave between the edges of the page and the document text". Its maddening!

now what are my page settings to satisfy 2cm top/bottom and 3cm right/left space? margin left/right 30mm margin top 10mm margin bottom 5mm border top 10mm border bottom 5mm auto header height footer height of 10mm (but uncheck the default "AutoFit height" and "dynamic spacing" check boxes, which – contrary to what you might think – do not affect the FOOTnotes because they aren't part of the footer. which makes sense from a typography standpoint, but is infuriating to use nonetheless
