@gwenhael @felix I’d argue the real power of vi is in the creation of an in-group of vi users who don’t use it to the full potential, and an out-group of people who don’t care.

@jb @gwenhael @felix The power of vi is that is everywhere Unix, and easily installed for Windows. You don't have to learn it properly if you don't want, but learning very basic editing means you know you can edit anything even on a broken Unix system or a slow serial link (although if it's too broken for cursor addressing use of Ed is necessary)
