@KentNavalesi @Xen4n There *is* an appreciable difference but the answer is still mostly yes.
Blacksky does run a full set of independent ATproto services so they don't depend on Bluesky for providing a service to their own users.
That doesn't protect them from the possibility of being excluded from Bluesky's servers which would mean their users would be unable to communicate with 99% of the people on Bluesky reducing it to a tiny social network.

@ikuturso @Xen4n So for an analogous situation on the fediverse, let's say mastodon .social blocking a smaller instance, do I understand correctly that the smaller instance's users would still be able to follow .social's users (provided they can find them)?
