i can see the utility of posting to big tech platforms for outreach, but i can not make sense of having that as the only option. i see this happening everywhere, also for organizations in latvia. recently i talked to people from an organization planning to move away from instagram. the reason for not being able to move to fedi is because you can't do outreach (radicalize more people) here. which would be totally fair, except they're planning on moving to upscrolled instead, which i can't imagine will have anyone but their existing supporters either. leftists will really switch to anything but fedi or foss, in general. smh

also is anyone else tired of hearing the same discussions over and over - people complaining about how their favorite proprietary, big tech messenger/social media/operating system/etc. is "becoming" evil, but not doing anything (useful*) about it? *one more change.org initiative or tweet at them will surely stop my favorite corporation from enshitiffying, right? right!? or my personal favorite, the constant discussion of "there's no good alternatives!1!!". at least having already quit most proprietary platforms, i get shielded from many of these conversations. but i'll never stop hating on people who don't even attempt alternatives, and just choose to accept the status quo.
