my local trans community is tearing itself apart over a really stupid disagreement. people are so vicious and the underhanded and devious ways people attack each other and refuse to take anything at good faith is depressing. the drama has been going on for nearly a week and I am disgusted as I have friends "on both sides" (it has really come to that level of witchhunting). its sad to see honestly. I didn't like the way the organization was running itself and there were many structural problems but also potential. its a big t4t support network that made quite an impact, being invited to the table with plenty of other queer orgs that usually don't have trans people's best interests in mind. but alas... infighting, seeing the enemy within, internal power struggles and interpersonal feuds are more of a focus than actually doing anything to address the worsening situation for the trans community in this country. pathetic.
