Over on Twitter there was a thread discussing black crime but of course it was all newspeak euphemisms like “jogger”, “scholar”, “chicken lovers”, etc. To which I thought (and remarked) that if a foreigner was using a translation app on the thread they would wonder what in the hell we were going on about.
