I noticed that for me too it is useful because if you want your description to be meaningfull, you have to structure things first. Whenever I post a picture of my garden, I do it like yiu would describe the scene at the theater : 1) general view - left-right, front-back of my garden, 2) the subject of the picture, i.e my compost stack and what surrounds it. Alt text is another perspective of your post.
