it's always an enjoyable time when I get to pull out the go pprof alongside my metrics and chase after a "why's it doing that?" all day and write an above average detailed report about it. I don't think more than one person ever reads those reports, and based on how most things go around there it'd have been more than acceptable to skip all that and just go with a gut feel "yeah it probably won't explode" yesterday afternoon, but: I thoroughly enjoy the process and I like the peace of mind of knowing with relative certainty that the system will behave as desired, and I'm getting paid to do it, so I'll keep doing it whenever I get the chance :)
