I've seen this around a couple of times already but today it struck me differently. I grew up seeing all the usual photos like this hundreds of times, from all the NASA archives from the Apollo missions. So this picture at first didn't seem remarkable. But then I realised, this isn't an old picture from "before my time". This is brand new, taken by a person who is in space right this very moment, yet last week was down here on Earth with the rest of us. That makes this picture more than just historic archive of something that happened before I was born. This is now, current.
