It makes me uncomfortable when binary trans people complain about being asked their pronouns. Publicly saying "I know you nonbinary people like this, but I'd prefer if everyone just assumed everyone's pronouns", is betrayal.

It's very, "look, I'm not one of you". And, like, yeah Karen, I got that. I was just hoping you could keep it together at the community picnic, but no, you stashed a big ol' bottle of nonbinaryphobia juice in your purse and you've been swigging it on the whole ride here, haven't you?

@domo this assumptipn also is transphobic in itself because this assumes that all trans binary people to have enough "passing" by default. My medical transition started 8 years ago and I still get mistaken for a woman 60% of the time. (Yes I am nonbinary transmasc, but even if I were not nonbinary, id still pretty much be in the same position).

@domo for a long time I considered myself binary trans (now I don't even believe that exists, but that's another story), but I've never once been able to pass in my life. it's not just a rejection on enbies, (although they're the most obvious target of this nonsense). it's a denial all trans existence. asking pronouns should be the default. :ms_angry_steam:
