Tried a bit of the mamajuana my wife got me when she was in the Dominican Republic. It has an odd smoky, woody smell from the wood, bark, and herbs in the bottle; this is misleading, as the liquor itself is quite sweet. It is very interesting, and not very strong (15% ABV, about the same as soju). It’s not my favorite, but I like it, and the bottle is wearing a jaunty little straw hat.
