1/ Repairability of e-bike batteries:
• Most e-bike battery packs are filled with cylindrical cells. The standard is the “18650 cell” which has a diameter of 18mm and a height of 65mm.
• Alas, these cells are welded into the pack. That means repairing and repurposing is nearly impossible and recycling is difficult.

2/ Infinite Battery, a French company wants to change that and has designed a modular, repairable battery pack that does not use welding: • 36V do-it-yourself kit without cells: €199 • Cells: €49.95 Thus, when the cells eventually fail, a “new” battery pack is relatively cheap.
