Last week I wanted to give some files to someone else in a USB stick. Some were quite big (~7GB) so good old de facto standard FAT wouldn't work. "I know", I thought, "I'll format it as NTFS", files where copied, did some local checks, good. Turns out their Windows 11 can't read the drive. It is now a couple of hundred Km away so we'll find alternatives (involving the network) but for next time, what did I do wrong? I used GParted to format, then rsync to copy. #fedihelp #linux #windows
