Asking for a friend:
What’s a good way for a regular person to contribute to archival efforts? I know when I was living in SF, the @internetarchive had #volunteer slots for scanning media, but any ideas that would be good for someone in Florida or Texas?

@b_cavello @internetarchive Online: For spreading the availability of public domain books by transcribing scans: https://pgdp.net (VERY much lets you feel part of something -- very easy to pick up a chunk, put down whenever, and still contribute meaningfully, tangibly, and in a *point* "I did THAT" way.) (Also someone should pay the core people a bunch of money and assistence to see if they can make the system reproducible for e.g. zines.)
