Any #HistoryOfTechnology folks out there? I’m trying to learn more about the history of electrification (aka the widespread adoption of electricity or construction of infrastructure outside of, like, funky inventors-in-labs types of things). In my mind, the early demonstrations of public usefulness were for electric lighting, but I am learning that the telegraph may have even earlier driven infrastructure investments. Do you know more? Or have recommendations on where to look? I’d love to learn!
