I've discovered (late) Rory Clement's WWII period books, lots with surprising twists. I am reading 'The English Führer' at present, all starring Tom Wilde, an unlikely hero as a Professor of History and Secret Service operative.
I think I will probably read the whole series. If you like this period of history and it's parallels today, it might be for you.

@wisegreyowl@mastodonapp.uk I do like that period. My own (non-fiction) book is mainly set there. But I DON'T like the parallels to today! Never again seems to have morphed into 'repeat every second generation'.
