I just realized (and this will definitively mark my age and my slowness of wit) that the frog dancers at the ICE protests and the No Kings march are in fact cosplaying the character Torve the Trog from Alexei Panshin’s Anthony Villiers’ series. Is anyone else still waiting for the publication of the fourth book, The Universal Pantograph?

@SpeakerToManagers@wandering.shop this reminds me I should embark on a memorial Panshin re-read campaign. (maybe just the fiction or it will take a very long time). my favorite of his stories is "How Can We Sink When We Can Fly?" which appeared in Four Futures (1971).

@SpeakerToManagers@wandering.shop Sure but only if it were one that Panshin had written in his time. Making a note to re-read those after I catch up on the too many library holds that came in all at once. The original mmpbs are on our shelves.

@SpeakerToManagers@wandering.shop Absolutely. Not realistically. I have no knowledge of the state of this piece of the world. Does it exist?
