I tend to be skeptical of government computing initiatives, but then I don't know much about them. This was a coincidental find, unrelated to my original search. I wonder if the #datajournalism community (eg. @simon , etc) collects this sort of information or suggestions on how to find it ...?

@blaise@hachyderm.io @simon@fedi.simonwillison.net I'm skeptical of any government period. In reality government is a bunch of rich people who think they are above everyone else who have given themselves permission to tell everyone else how to live. And also to tell everyone else that they are supposed to support the rich people and their lifestyle while everyone else loses their butt all the time.
