Doing osdev has made me appreciate the hard work of the linux maintainers even more. Like what do you mean your kernel is able to boot from a usb stick, as well as a raid array, as well as some random obscure hardware nobody knows about anymore, do you know how much code that takes??? (the answer is lots)
