Installing a new air conditioner with Expando-Foam at the WFMU transmitter. June, 2005. FM transmitters generate a LOT of heat, so these AC units run non-stop, year round. When one would die, a temperature alarm would generate a robo-call to the station manager, signaling it was time to drive out to West Orange, stop at Sears for a new unit, and swap it in for the dead one. #wfmu #radio #broadcasting #communityradio
