@zipkid I do not think there's any way to avoid authentication anymore. Ai has broken the Internet, the good old anonymous web is already dead, we barely haven't noticed. Because without authentication there's no way to find out if something was written by a human and there's no way of keeping out AI slop otherwise. I have been advocating a AI moratorium like the nuclear arms treaty, but that is not realistic.

@zipkid a long time ago I was flabbergasted by the "E-mail is broken and there's nothing to do" doomerism. Obviously signing and encryption work in email, and whitelisting would be trivial with it (like signal does it) The same could work with https: trusted sources could guarantee #noAI and we could filter. Trivial working solutions are ignored in favor of "oh noes! Whatever can we do!? Oh the humanity!" So annoying 🤦
