I ran into an old college friend this week. Someone I hadn't seen or talked to in over 20 years. We chatted almost like it was just yesterday that we saw each other. I lived a lifetime between those times. Marriage, kids, divorce, HRT, two different states, 4 different cars, career changes... My mind doesn't know what to think about that. Part of me still feels like I'm in college. Part of me still wants to be something different. This is the part that my parents couldn't explain to me and I can't explain to my kids. We get older but there's always a part of us that feels like our youthful times were just yesterday.
