James Talarico (D) is a TX House rep, running in the Dem primary (Mar 3) for US Senate (against Jasmine Crockett). the FCC has an "equal time" rule for political candidates, which traditionally exempted news interviews and talk shows. current FCC has suggested maybe removing that exception, so Colbert's lawyers denied Talarico as a guest. so, Colbert did a segment about that, and a youtube-only interview with Talarico, which mentions the furry litterbox thing
