This weekend was @uklta first #LARP event of the year, Recon. It was an anthology made of multiple ~3 hour games. We have a history of doing slightly silly games that's been neglected in recent years but there was a welcome return to silliness at Recon. I revel in silliness, when a game demands it. @coreworlder ran a "Batman '66" themed game with all the players as GCPD officers facing a bad day at the opening of a grand exhibition at Gotham City Museum targeted by various classic villains. For _reasons_ this also involved my reprising a character from a decade ago, Dave Smith legendary guitarist with world-conquering heavy metal band Imothep, as an NPC. Who also, secretly, fights crime. So I got to go about being a naff Nigel Tufnel-esque bloke and asking about where my rider of "12 cans of good quality European lager" was while earnestly whispering to anybody I could about my second tier secret crime-fighting exploits.
