Here’s why it’s so important a 2024 study “proving” a resurgence of church attendance among young people was false:
It’s not just bad survey methodology.
Commentators concluded young people yearned for more authentic, embodied connection (sure!) and that it could only be found in churches (no!).

This keeps happening - conservatives grasping at every piece of evidence, reliable or not, proving that the only way forward is back. How can we find meaning and enchantment and mystery and thrill together in a world that seems so alienating and disembodied? If it were church, we’d know.
