Type designers: How do you think an automated font identification system (a la WhatTheFont, WhatFontIs) could ethically (and hopefully effectively and broadly) be rolled out for indie fonts? What's the comfort level? I don't think font files would need to be stored. I think images could be generated from trial fonts. Feel free to reply with stipulations or thoughts.

@ryan I'm finding it hard to imagine a way to do this ethically where foundries have to opt-out.
