@bweller@mstdn.social @QasimRashid@mastodon.social The thing is, these corporations had choices allalong the way...Iassume they have donation departments where they "do good" and use it as wroite off, but imagine if they did good all along? Imagine if they supported the roads they use andotherinfrasturcture., beyond the taxes they payday to day? The corporate taxrates in the 1950's helped bnuild the interstats road system among other things.

    @Sfwmson No, I don't want corporations "choosing to do good", out of their good will. Because that gives them the option to select what they do. That gives them the option of stopping to do that. That gives them stopping to do that as a bargaining argument. Tax them. Use the resources where appropriate. Don't give them the option of not doing that. And if they want to do *more*, *on top* of that, well, no one is stopping them. @bweller @QasimRashid
