"Bit.ly s̶h̶o̶r̶t̶e̶n̶s̶ [ruins] 600 million links per month. .. Bit.ly makes money by charging for access to a̶g̶g̶r̶e̶g̶a̶t̶e̶ ̶d̶a̶t̶a̶ [your activity on the internet collected by tracking cookies] created as a result of many people using the shortened URLs."
