@thelinuxEXP I agree with Linux Mint: it’s the perfect distribution for a new user. However, as you gain experience, you start wanting more control over the system and feel the urge to remove things you don’t need. For me, Debian STABLE with KDE Plasma is exactly what I was looking for: I don’t need to “get excited” about the latest version of a program; I just want to turn on the computer, do what I need to do, and turn it off. Debian with Plasma does exactly that: the system is stable, the environment just works, and it’s customizable. I wouldn’t recommend Debian for a new user (you sometimes have to tinker in the terminal), but ultimately, this is it. Alternatively, I might choose openSUSE, but the Leap version 16 is pretty weird (starting with the messed-up installer), and Tumbleweed can sometimes crash.
