The article "‘Irresponsible failure’: Google, Meta, Snap and Microsoft slam EU" (https://www.theguardian.com/technology/2026/apr/09/google-meta-snap-microsoft-eu-child-sexual-abuse) presents a complex issue in a very one-sided way and leaves out the many legitimate concerns from civil society. I am disappointed in The Guardian and the writer. Might be worth writing them. @echo_pbreyer @chatcontrol @maxim #chatcontrol #theguardian

@titaniumbiscuit @echo_pbreyer @chatcontrol Looks like that Guardian article is an "Irresponsible failure". Wild how one-sided that is. It uncritically cites Thorn, the NGO which heavily lobbied for chatcontrol and has their own product they're selling (as seen in https://www.ftm.eu/articles/ashton-kutchers-non-profit-start-up-makes-millions-from-fighting-child-abuse-online )
