@Mer__edith I believe that German politicians (at federal level) don’t care about private personal communication. They want to break encryption. It’s no coincidence. What could possibly help is to tell them that the end of private communication also means the end of business secrets. Because China and Russia WILL get the keys for any possible backdoor as soon as it is implemented. They don’t care about their people as much as they (pretend to) care about the their economy.

@kontrollierterWahnwitz @Mer__edith an example in the last months «Salt Typhoon is part of a broader operation led by China’s Ministry of State Security. These actors have quietly gained access to telecoms(new window), government networks, transportation, lodging, and military systems, not just in the US, but across more than 80 countries(new window), including the UK, Canada, Germany, Japan, and others.» https://proton.me/blog/salt-typhoon-hack

@kontrollierterWahnwitz @Mer__edith This and showing that robust encryption/privacy can be an economic advantage for the EU. Because it seems that success for politicians is measured in jobs 🫤
