In the early eighties, there were student protests in Belgium against the introduction of an annual fee of 5000 Bef. (less than 120 euro) Today the fees are times that amount, while gouvernment funded scolarships are diminishing However, students are allowed to work more, all the wile getting hurried along to graduate sooner. Higher education is getting reversed back to a privilege instead of a basic right. I guess it happens elsewhere too. #education
