Only one third of voters voted for the nazis. A certain percentage opposed them. But many of those who didn&#39;t actively support them turned a blind eye, because they didn&#39;t want to make waves, the system benefited them, or at least they had comfortable enough lives under it. It is the same with technofascism*. Until it stops being comfortable/cheap. And then, everyone will always have been against it. *The percentage might be closer to those of vegans though. @lwriemen @pelle LLMs can only solve problems that have been solved many times before. The question is, how much of software development is solving new problems at all.

@rhelune i think the #vegan comparison to #noAI makes sense, because of the uncompromising boycot. plenty of antifascists are eating chickens, drinking cocacola, using facebook, or driving a car (or even making AI slop!). there isn't one clearly-defined #antifascist boycot movement, is there? even if i say BDS, some antideutsch will disagree hard on that.

@rhelune @pelle I would define 'being a vegan about it' as someone who doesn't support a thing in its core. As in animal exploitation. If you'd be vegan about AI, my question would be if you are fundamentally against the use of a LLM? And regarding the antifascist movement: there is a divide if antifascist action is fighting nazis or fighting capitalism (aka the core of fascism), so I think it would be rather hard to get to a concensus there.
