Tbh the thing that really strikes me watching old ABC episodes of Battlebots is how much... better the production value is compared with the Discovery-produced seasons. More interesting shots/dynamic camera movements, that sort of thing. It's hard to qualify exactly how most of the time but it's immediately apparent. There's one moment from the first episode where the loser is shown looking kinda glum post-fight and the shot is perfectly framed so that you can see the shattered wreck of his bot in the box behind him. Of course, I'm just happy we're getting new Battlebots soon at all... even if it's sponsored by the bastards making sysadmins' lives hell right now. May they burn all their money on stupid bullshit and go bankrupt.
